Share Information

Border Protection Command works in conjunction with a number of Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies to collect, analyse and assess information relating to the security of Australia's offshore maritime areas. 

Once analysed and assessed information is shared across a number of Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies as required.

In addition to sharing information between agencies within Australia, Border Protection Command also exchanges organisational information with a number of foreign agencies and Defence Forces regarding:

  • regional maritime security roles and responsibilities
  • shared Exclusive Economic Zones
  • the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (visit http://www.ccamlr.org for more information on this commission) and
  • shared Search and Rescue boundaries.
