Share Information
Border Protection Command works in conjunction with a number of Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies to collect, analyse and assess information relating to the security of Australia's offshore maritime areas.
Once analysed and assessed information is shared across a number of Commonwealth, State and Territory agencies as required.
In addition to sharing information between agencies within Australia, Border Protection Command also exchanges organisational information with a number of foreign agencies and Defence Forces regarding:
- regional maritime security roles and responsibilities
- shared Exclusive Economic Zones
- the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (visit http://www.ccamlr.org for more information on this commission) and
- shared Search and Rescue boundaries.
Border Protection Command is also active in providing information and resources for:
- ASEAN Regional Forum Maritime Security Shore Exercises
- the International Maritime Organisation in its role as Australia's Security Forces Authority.
