Management
Border Protection Command uses surveillance and response assets from the Australian Defence Force, Customs, AMSA and contractors.
Surveillance assets currently available to Border Protection Command include:
- Commercial satellite imagery
- Customs contracted aircraft
- Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) AP-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft
- Army Regional Force Surveillance Unit patrols
- Other Defence, AMSA and contracted surveillance assets as required and assigned.
Response assets currently available to Border Protection Command include:
- Customs patrol vessels (Australian Customs Vessels)
- Customs contracted Southern and Northern Ocean patrol vessels
- Royal Australian Navy (RAN) minor warships; mainly patrol boats, mine hunters and landing craft
- Royal Australian Navy (RAN) major warships
- Other Defence and contracted response assets as required and assigned.
